To the Surry Arts Council and other organizations involved in putting on another wonderfully successful Mayberry Days. The city is fortunate in that Andy Griffith used it, at least in part, for his model of Mayberry in his series The Andy Griffith Show. But it is through extremely hard work, consistent effort, and a willingness to do something for the town and the thousands of show fans by the council’s executive director, Tanya Jones, her staff, and hundreds of volunteers that make it a special week for all involved.
*****
To all the Andy Griffith Show fans who flock to Mount Airy each September for Mayberry Days. It’s really you good folks who keep the spirit of Mayberry alive, whether that be here in Mount Airy or wherever you are from. We appreciate you coming to Mount Airy, and we hope to see you many times more.
