MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Charles Ray Humphries, 57, of 1012 Marshall Heights, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 23, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Humphries was born April 8, 1955, in Forsyth County to Charles Luther Humphries and Rhumell Hiatt Humphries. Charles worked as a knitter at Kentucky Derby Hosiery for many years. He is survived by his mother, Rhumell Hiatt Humphries of the home; his father, Charles Luther Humphries of Pilot Mountain; a sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Jimmy Reynolds Sr. of Mount Airy; a niece, Sonya Torres of Mount Airy; a nephew, Jimmy Reynolds Jr. of Mount Airy; three great-nieces, Leticia Torres Thomas, Chelsea Torres Thomas and Serenity Reynolds, all of Mount Airy; and a great-nephew, Mario Torres Thomas of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Elder David Culler and Elder James Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
