PINNACLE — Claudie Anner Hawks Bottoms, 85, of Pinnacle, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Wake Forest Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 13, 1927, in Carroll County, Va., to the late James Arthur and Alie Emiline Simones Hawks. Mrs. Bottoms retired from Adams Millis Corporation and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Bottoms is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ray and Mary Hawks of Moneta, Va., J.D. and Kathy Bottoms of Pilot Mountain, Mike and Becky Bottoms of King and Danny Bottoms of Pinnacle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Thomas Williams of Winston-Salem and Brenda and David Joyce of Pinnacle; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bottoms was preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Bottoms; her parents; grandson, Dwayne Nixon; sisters, Ruby Brady, Gladys Bowman, Hassie Miller and Margie Miller; and brothers, Otis Hawks, Curtis Hawks and Arliss Hawks. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Cox-Needham Chapel with the Rev. David Joyce officiating. Interment will follow at Hawks Family Cemetery in Laurel Fork, Va. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
