BELVIDERE — Dorothy White Creed, 70, of 418 Turnpike Road, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville. Mrs. Creed was born in Perquimans County and was the daughter of the late Charlie Clarkson White and Emma Ainsley White Rountree. Formerly employed with Dr. Lloyd Griffin, DDS, in Elizabeth City, Peoples Bank & Trust Co. in Hertford, and the town of Hertford Municipal Office, she was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Frances Winslow; her sisters, Marjorie Foreman and Billie Bryant; and her brother, Charlie Clarkson White Jr. Surviving are her husband, Leonard T. Creed; stepdaughters, Gwen Bistarkey of Palm Bay, Fla., and Shelley Bryant of Mount Airy; a sister, Nan Reynolds of Belvidere; her best friend, Annie Onley of Hertford; and three stepgrandchildren. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the mausoleum chapel of Skyline Memory Gardens in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the McConnell Raab Hope Lodge, American Cancer Society, 930A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834-8040.
