Terry and Lisa Hawks of Mount Airy announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Carole, to Matthew Tyler Vaughn, son of Kenny and Barbara Vaughn of Mount Airy.
The bride-elect graduated from North Surry High School and attended Surry Community College. She is a preschool teacher at Rainbow Child Care Center.
Vaughn graduated from North Surry High School in 2005 and is an insurance agent at AAA Insurance, Hawks Insurance Agency, Mount Airy.
They will be married on Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. in Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church, Cana, Va.
