An Ararat, Va., man was arrested and charged in connection with a fire that destroyed a Mount Airy home.

Glen Isaac Boyles, of 215 Johnson Creek Road, Ararat, was arrested by the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant issued in connection with an Aug. 30 house fire at 307 Elm Street in Mount Airy, according to a written statement released by the city police department. He was charged with burning an uninhabited house.

That fire, the police said, was not related to a series of arsons which took place the night before in Mount Airy.

According to the police, he was being held in the Patrick County jail with no bond.

Anyone having information about the fires can contact the Mount Police Department or call crime stoppers at 336-786-4000.
