DOBSON — A 16-year-old county youth is behind bars on a $10,000 bond after police searched his home and discovered illegal drugs, Sheriff Graham Atkinson said Thursday.
According to the sheriff, on Tuesday, deputies with the sheriff’s office were joined by officials from the North Carolina Probation and Parole Department in searching the Mount Airy residence of Kurt Levi Mark Love, located 150 Indian Grove Church Road, based on information they received that indicated he was growing marijuana inside his residence.
Love is on probation, Atkinson said.
“Officers searched the residence and found a marijuana plant growing in a bucket in Love’s bedroom,” said the sheriff.
While searching the room, officers also discovered a small amount of crack cocaine, along with smoking pipes.
The teen has been charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of cocaine, maintaining a drug house and the possession of drug paraphernalia.
