• A Mount Airy resident is facing violations of damage to property, unlawful use of a BB gun and disorderly conduct as a result of an incident late Monday in which he allegedly shot at a neighbor’s house. Kenneth Ray Galyean, 20, of 125 Flower Charm Lane, was encountered by police investigating property damage at the residence of Lora Horner on Flower Charm Lane. Galyean was found to be firing a BB gun at the house, which caused $150 in damage to a metal door. He also allegedly was shouting profanity after being warned not to, police records state. Galyean was confined in the Surry County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond and is to appear in District Court on Oct. 23.
• Daniel Carlos McNeil II, 27, of 256 Webster Road, was served Monday with a criminal summons on a violation of second-degree trespassing, issued on July 9 with Richard Eric Puckett of Reeves Mill Road as the complainant. McNeil is slated to be in Surry District Court on Aug. 17.
• Devyn Lee Alexander Maston, 21, of 1025 Timber Trail, Pinnacle, was served Monday with electronic warrants on offenses of second-degree trespassing and communicating threats which were filed on July 13 with Terrie May Loggins of Wade Venable Lane as the complainant. Maston is free on a written promise to appear in court on Sept. 7.
• A hit-and-run accident that caused $3,000 in damage to multiple fixtures occurred last Friday afternoon in the 400-block of Worth Street near Hale Street. Included were a brick retaining wall, a utility pole and a rock retaining wall, which were struck by a vehicle operated by an unknown suspect who fled the scene. The victims of the crime are Wayne Wright Jefferson, a Worth Street resident; Duke Energy; and The Sanctuary on Worth Street. No charges had been filed at last report.
