DOBSON — A 52-year-old Lowgap woman is being held in the Surry County Jail after she allegedly made multiple sales of prescription medication to an undercover police officer.
Terri Smith Reavis, with a reported address of Gilmer Miller Road, was arrested Friday morning and charged with nine felony counts in connection with trafficking in hydrocodone.
Reavis has been charged with two counts of trafficking in opiates, three counts of trafficking in opiates by possession, three counts of trafficking in opiates by transportation and three counts of maintaining a drug vehicle.
Sheriff Graham Atkinson said the arrest came following an undercover investigation.
“The narcotics division conducted an investigation in Reavis for selling her hydrocodone, a prescription medication, that she was being prescribed by a physician,” he said.
Reavis allegedly sold her hydrocodone to an undercover officer “on more than one occasion,” according to the sheriff.
“At the time of her arrest near the intersection of Highway 89 and Interstate 77, she had approximately 32 grams of hydrocodone,” Atkinson said.
Reavis is being held on a $125,000 bond.
Atkinson said Surry County officers were assisted in the investigation by officers from the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office.
