PILOT MOUNTAIN — After an extensive investigation, the Surry County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people in connection with a meth lab search warrant execution.

On Tuesday, the officers with the Surry County Sheriff’s Office searched a home and outbuilding at 1795 Cook School Road.

During the search, officers located three, one-pot methamphetamine labs in an outbuilding adjacent to the residence. They also found chemicals used in the production of methamphetamine and a handgun.

According to Sheriff Graham Atkinson, officers located seven marijuana plants during their search. He said officers also found crystal methamphetamine, an assault rifle, needles and other chemicals used in the production of methamphetamine inside the residence.

Tommy Lee Leftwich, 46, of the residence, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursor chemicals, manufacturing marijuana, conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Surry County Jail under a $100,000 bond.

Mary Ruth Cook, 43, of the same address, was charged with conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held under a $25,000 bond.

Dillon Edward Leftwich, 19, of Pinnacle Hill Apartments, unit 27, Pilot Mountain, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursor chemicals, conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held under a $150,000 bond.

Agencies that assisted the Surry County Sheriff’s Office in the search were the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Mount Airy Police Department and the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office.
