North Stokes clips East Surry boys

Danbury — A tie game with one minute remaining in the third quarter turned to a six-point North Stokes advantage, courtesy of two 3-pointers by Travis Booth, and the Vikings went on to beat East Surry, 53-41.

Spence Tuttle paced the Cardinals (10-12, 9-6 Northwest 1-A Conference) with 10 points and eight rebounds, and Andrew Hunter also scored 10.

East Surry came out and scored just six points in the first quarter, but fared better in the second (12 points), third (11) and fourth (12) quarters.

The Vikings used a pair of 18-point third and fourth quarters to cruise to the victory.

Dylan Hall led North Stokes with 18 points, while Adam Carter added 17.
