WINSTON-SALEM — The Surry Runnin’ Patriots were trapped and beaten by the Forsyth Home Educators last night.

“They pressed us full-court and I didn’t think we’d have any trouble with that, but we could not handle the pressure,” Surry coach Lin Hamilton.

The press led to turnovers, which led to Forsyth recording a 47-point first half. Surry (12-8, 4-3 North Carolina Home Educators Athletic Conference) turned the ball over 18 times in the first half and 26 times overall.

The Runnin’ Patriots shot at a 48-percent clip, highlighted by usual suspects Luke Hamilton (24 points) and Daniel Sheaffer (19).

“But we didn’t get enough chances to make up for (the turnovers),” Hamilton lamented.
