Gentry Middle School eighth-graders did a bit of paying it forward with kindness recently.

With one idea, they put into action a plan for a Halloween-themed celebration honoring students in the exceptional children’s program.

Without adult assistance these eighth-graders organized the festivity, brought costumes, candy, as well as refreshments. They treated their fellow students to games, face painting, treats and entertained them with music. The student-led event was inspired by the book, “Pay It Forward” by Catherine Ryan Hyde, this year’s One Book, One School selection.
