A Mount Airy couple recently enjoyed the rare distinction of both of them knocking down a hole-in-one on the same hole at Cross Creek Country Club, with the second ace coming exactly one month to the day of the first.
Chuck Beasley holed out his tee shot on the 10th hole on April 29 at Cross Creek, using a 9-iron from 140 yards out. It was the first ace he had ever accomplished, and came with Terry Mills, Dennis Younger and Dale Willard as playing partners on the 6,795-yard, par-72 course.
Exactly 30 days later, on May 29, Mr. Beasley was back on the course with Terry and Sue Mills and his wife Deborah. The foursome came to the 10th hole, and when it was Deborah Beasley’s turn to take her tee shot, she shot from 111 yards out with a 6-iron and found the bottom of the hole. It was the second ace of Mrs. Beasley’s golf career.
