White Plains place third in state ASHEBORO — The White Plains Christian School baseball team placed third in the NCCSA State Tournament.
The White Plain Patriots went 9-3 for the season and finished second in their conference.

Cards take 4-1 win over West Montgomery PILOT MOUNTAIN — The first seeded East Surry Cardinals won a home playoff game against West Montgomery on Tuesday in the second round of state playoffs.
The Cards rode an 11-strike-out performance by Drew Wilson for the 4-1 win. Scott Meredith came in for Wilson in the sixth and registered four more strikeouts for the victory. The Cardinals recorded only one error the entire game.

Surry Storm win state hoops title The Surry Storm second-third grade basketball team finished its season by winning its age group in the American Youth Basketball Association state championship in Concord this past weekend.
The Storm team won three other tournaments over the season: AYBA State Qualifier West Region (in Wilkes County), Lady Gaters Spring Classic (Greensboro) and Mayberry March Madness (Mt Airy).
