Arrests The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has reported the following arrests: • On March 6, Abby Leigh Wilmoth, 33, of N.C. 268 in Elkin, was arrested and charged with four counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny and one count of conspiracy to break and enter to commit larceny. A pilot involved in a crash Thursday night at Mount Airy-Surry County Airport has been identified. Chris Gammons was the person injured in the incident, according to Myron Waddell, senior supervisor of Surry County Emergency Services. Gammons is about 35 and has a Statesville address, Waddell said, and is a former Surry County resident.
