Health Board okays animal rescue policy

Local students meet Attorney General
DOBSON — Recently six students Surry County students and two local adults met with State Attorney General Roy Cooper as part their effort to inform the public about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and abuse. The coloring simulates impurities in water. The solar-powered system runs water through filters and across UV lights to kill bacteria and make it safe for drinking. North Surry seniors, like many of their counterparts, have presented multi-media presentations to meet graduation requirements as spring brings graduation closer. Indicative of the variety found in these projects were two recently presented by Greyhounds Austin Barker and Keightley Dalton. Driver charged in November moped death
A driver whose SUV struck a moped in Mount Airy last fall, fatally injuring its rider, has been charged with three violations, city police announced Thursday afternoon. Eddie Ray Humes, 61, of 308 Spring St., is accused of misdemeanor death by vehicle, failing to yield the right of way at a red light and driving while licensed revoked, according to Sgt. B.L.
