Note-burning part of church anniversary service
A local church will be adding something new to its anniversary celebration this year. Salem United Methodist Church will include a note-burning as part of its 156-year anniversary Sunday. Board to limit comments at public hearings
Public hearings held at City Hall on various matters tend to be orderly affairs, but that hasn’t stopped the Mount Airy Board of Commissioners from tweaking the process. I am thoroughly convinced that every man, woman and child in the private sector could lose their jobs right down to babysitting gigs, and there still would be public-paid employees somewhere expecting a cost-of-living raise. Children’s home fundraiser dedicated to late founder
Rev. Lonnie Gunter’s dream was to build a children’s home for abused, neglected, and abandoned children. Before he died February, his dream was partially realized as Canaan Land Children’s Home was more than half complete.
