Rain won’t stop Shepherd’s House celebration
With rain a possibility on Saturday, steps have been taken to ensure Mother Nature doesn’t put a damper on a 10th-anniversary celebration of the Shepherd’s House. The event marking that milestone for the local homeless shelter is scheduled from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Riverside Park in Mount Airy. Fire victim hospitalized for smoke inhalation
A disabled veteran of the war in Iraq remained hospitalized Tuesday as a result of a fire that destroyed his home in the Sheltontown community Monday night. Budbreak Wine Festival celebrates local wine industry
The Budbreak Wine Festival, Mount Airy’s downtown wine festival, will be held May 4 from noon to 6 p.m. The fourth annual wine festival offers wine tastings and sales from 15 North Carolina wineries, multiple food vendors, local artists and musical entertainment.
