PILOT MOUNTAIN — The East Surry girls swim team won against Surry Central and West Stokes in a tri-meet on Monday, and West Stokes claimed victory in the boy’s competition.

The Lady Cards took six first-place finishes in the meet. Katherine Martin was first in the 200 Freestyle, Kelsey Tunstall was first in the 200 IM, Avery Tilley was first in the 50 Freestyle; and Kelsey Tunstall was first in the 100 backstroke.

The Lady Cards scored 133 points; Surry Central scored 114 points; and West Stokes girls scored 58.

The men’s scores were: West Stokes, 103 points; Surry Central, 70; and East Surry, 49.

Cardinal Christopher Holshouser took two first places, in the 200 IM and also in the 100 breaststroke, said East Surry Head Coach Leah Tunstall.

Tunstall said it was a great way to get ready for the conference meet which will be held at the Armfield Civic Center. The conference will begin on Friday for the boys and Saturday for the girls, she said.

Tunstall also said the team claimed anywhere from eight to 11 automatic times in the meet on Monday.
