DOBSON — The Lady Golden Eagles softball team lost to the North Stokes Vikings at home on Tuesday in its second conference match of the season, and the team is now 1-1 in the conference and 3-3 overall.
The Vikings won against the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-0. The Vikings scored one run in the first, one in the second and one in the third inning. The Golden Eagles did have a couple of three and outs in the latter part of the game.
Head Coach Glenn Craddock said Cassidy Joyner led in hitting for the Golden Eagles at the plate and hit two for three, but said, overall, the team came up short in getting hits.
“If you don’t get on base, you cannot score,” said Craddock.
Craddock said the Vikings played a hard hitting game.
Viking pitcher Lindsey Brown pitched well against the Golden Eagles, said Craddock.
The coach said the team will be busy at work after Tuesday’s game working on any changes that need to be made before meeting South Stokes on Thursday, also a conference team.
The batting line-up for the Golden Eagles against Bishop was Kendra Johnson (centerfield), Joanna Wall (left field), Cassidy Joyner (short stop), Brittany Meyers (third base), Ashley Craddock (designated player), Jordan Wood (right field), Meagan Hutson (first base), Kristin Key (outfield), Katlin Anthony (catcher) and Elise Austin (pitcher).
