Flat Rock Elementary School students wave goodbye on the last day of school Wednesday. The school has held its Dragon Rodeo Roundup for at least a dozen years where buses are blessed and do laps in the parking lot before leaving to take children home.
Flat Rock Kindergarten student Arianna Wright gets a hug from Staffer LuAnne Llewellyn before she boards the bus for home. Wright is a student in Karen King’s class. Students received the traditional school send off on the last day known as the Dragon Rodeo Roundup. Llewellyn performed a blessing of the buses and teachers lined up on the front lawn to wave goodbye to students.

J.J. Jones Intermediate school staffers gathered at 13 Bones Wednesday after school to celebrate another successful school year and to fellowship. Principal Jason Dorsett said the focus of the meal was on the staff for one day and the rest of the year it is on the children.
