PILOT MOUNTAIN — The Bishop McGuinness Villain boys claimed the title as 1A/2A Conference Champions in the finals swim meet held at the Armfield Civic Center on Saturday.

Bishop commanded a hefty 200 point score over West Stokes 98, Mount Airy 75, North Surry 45, East Surry 31, Surry Central 30 and South Stokes 21.

First- and second-place finishes were awarded to individuals and teams and were designated as All-Conference.

Bishop took 10 gold first-place awards in the 200 medley relay (Charlie Ladka, William Johnson, Jeffrey Davidson, Matthew Brackett); 200 freestyle (Jeffrey Davidson); 200 IM (Grant Davidson); 50 free (Ben Coon); 100 butterfly (Alex Strasser); 100 free (Ben Coon); 200 free relay (Daniel Gomez-Perry, Sean Gorham, Joseph Farley, Ben Coon); 100 backstoke (Grant Davidson); 100 breaststroke (Sean Gorham); and 400 free (Ben Coon).

Bishop Coach Kenny Christensen said, “We had a solid night.”

Coon took four gold medals, the highest of anyone in the conference championships.

The overall first- and second-place finishes were:

• BM 200 medley relay (Charlie Ladka, William Johnson, Jeffrey Davidson, Matthew Brackett), MA Jacob Puckett, William Judd, Blake Bond, Mason Epperson);

• 200 freestyle, BM Jeffrey Davidson, ES Christopher Holshouser;

• 200 IM, BM Grant Davidson, BM Sean Gorham;

• 50 free, BM Ben Coon, BM Joseph Farley;

• 100 fly, BM Alex Strasser, WS Robbie Scoville;

• 100 free, BM Ben Coon, BM Joseph Farley;

• 500 free, WS Sam Stevenson, BM Matthew Brackett;

• 200 free relay, BM (Daniel Gomez-Perry, Sean Gorham, Joseph Farley, Ben Coon), WS (Josh Zolnierowicz, Dylan Turner, Robbie Scoville, David Hughart);

• 100 backstroke, BM Grant Davidson, BM Jeffrey Davidson;

• 100 breaststroke BM Sean Gorham, NS Payden Simmons;

• 400 free relay (Ben Coon, Joseph Farley, Daniel Gomez-Perry, Grant Davidson), WS (Josh Zolnierowicz, Sam Stevenson, Robbie Scoville, David Hughart).
