The Mount Airy Bears baseball team lost to South Stokes by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday mostly due to defensive errors.
Bears Head Coach Jon Cawley said South Stokes had only one earned run of the six total scored by the Sauras.
The rest of the runs came down to defensive errors. Cawley said there were eight errors recorded.
“Everybody on the infield today in practice probably took 100 ground balls,” said the coach.
Cawley said a highlight for the Bears was pitcher Sam Harris.
“He pitched a good game,” said Cawley.
The Bears are 10-7 and will play conference leader West Stokes on Tuesday on senior night.
There are seven seniors on the team. They are Garrett Vanhoy, Colburn Gwyn, Austin Taylor, Sam Harris, Logan Young, Benji Hicks and Colte Poore.
