MARTINSVILLE, Va. — The Surry Runnin’ Patriots girls won against the Carlisle team by a score of 55-37 on Tuesday and guard Sydney Bedsaul led in scoring.
Runnin’ Patriots Head Coach Todd Hill said Bedsaul made several three-pointers and drove for quite a few lay-ups to haul in 33 total points for the team.
Hill said the Pats played a little sluggish in the first half and had only scored 17 points by half-time compared to the Carlisle’s 10 points. However, Hill said, the second half proved to be a different ballgame, because the Runnin’ Patriot girls moved into a transition style game and were able to get some open shots.
The game scorers were: Sydney Bedsaul 33 points; Jessica Boyd 13; Kaylee Paris 6; and Joye Harrison 3.
Boyd also took 11 rebounds and four steals, Ashley Marshall took eight rebounds, and Harrison made six assists.
The Surry Runnin’ Patriot girls will play Stateline Rush in Galax on Friday.
