To the Editor,
Referencing the editorial by the Fayetteville Observer published in Tuesday’s Mount Airy News, the Observer rakes Governor McCrory, NC state Senator Phil Berger and the Tea Party over the coals for their continued opposition to the Affordable Care Act known as Obamacare.
The Editorial claims that it is time to stop fighting the implementation of Obamacare because it, with the concurrence of the Supreme Court, is a foregone conclusion and we should just accept this and move one. I guess the lesson to be learned here, according to the Fayetteville Observer Editorial Board, is that when all looks lost just resign yourself to the inevitable and conform. Probably a good thing the Paper’s Ed Board was not making decisions concerning surrender for the British or French during WW II or for the our own Founding Fathers during the low points of our American Revolution.
With their mindset when all looks lost just accept it and learn to live with it, no matter the consequences. I know the editorial claims and rightfully so that we end up paying for uninsured health care one way or another but there is a bigger concern here than money. That concern is the loss of individual freedom. The Paper obviously feels that we should allow those who run our Federal government to replace a citizen’s incentive to strive for self reliance with a sheepish redistribution of wealth entitlement. I’m waiting for the eventual editorial from the paper where they will tout how government reeducation camps are here to stay so just pack your bags and learn to live with it.
That’s right Fayetteville Observer let’s keep all the sheep in the heard. Governor McCrory, Senator Berger, and Tea Party keep up the good “the right” fight, never surrender.
