Ms. Carol Rose Lowe, 64 of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born in Surry County on October 11, 1948 to the late Samuel Decosta and Mildred Galyean Lowe. Ms. Lowe was a retired Knitter/Inspector from Sara Lee Corporation and worked many years at Kentucky Derby Hosiery. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church. She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pamela Robin Lowe and TJ Joyner of Mount Airy, Teresa and Jimmy Smith of Lowgap; two brothers, Ray and Terry Lowe both of Mount Airy; a special friend, Pat Pennell of Stokesdale. Ms. Lowe was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Decosta and Mildred Galyean Lowe. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church with Rev. Gray Kirkman, and Rev. Joe Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy where she will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the service.
