Meagan Michelle Barksdale and Tyler Scott Bullington were married on June 12 in Rustburg Baptist Church, Rustburg, Va. The Rev. Rick Cole officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Libby Barksdale, 364 Gough Road, Rustburg, Va. She graduated from Rustburg High School in 1999 and Lynchburg College in 2003. She is a high school teacher.

The bridegroom is the son of Aubrey and Gaynelle Bullington, 1260 Albion Church Road, Mount Airy. He graduated from East Surry High School in 2000 and Surry Community College in 2002.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Jennifer Richardson of Rustburg was the honor attendant. The bridesmaids were Anna Briers of Goode, Va.; Abby Caudle of Pilot Mountain; Lisa Mitchell of Rustburg; and Randi Jo Foster of Madison Heights, Va.

Grace and Taylor Bullington of Mount Airy were the flower girls. Luke Bullington of Pilot Mountain was the ring bearer.

Aubrey Bullington served the bridegroom as best man. The groomsmen were Tony Bullington of Orlando, Fla.; Todd Bullington of Mount Airy; Terry Bullington of Pilot Mountain; and Paul Barksdale of Forest, Va.

A reception followed at City View, Lynchburg, Va.

Music was provided by Wendell Witt of Music, Music and More Music.

The rehearsal dinner was held at Dickey’s Barbeque.

The couple spent their honeymoon at St. Lucia. They reside at 8 Northgate Court, Lynch Station, Va.

Robert “Sonny” and Brenda Davis Westmoreland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 2. They were married in Mount Airy at the Grace Moravian parsonage on July 2, 1960.

They celebrated their anniversary with an out-of-town trip and small party at their home given by their daughter. Family and a few friends attended.

They have two children, Michael Westmoreland of Colorado Springs, Co., and Cathy Westmoreland-Iams of Mount Airy. Their six grandchildren and spouses are Rachel Edwards and husband, Joey, Katie Iams Becky Brintle and husband, Austin, all of Mount Airy, Caitlin Westmoreland of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Zachary Iams of the home, and Cian Westmoreland, who is traveling in Russia. They also have three great-grandchildren, Rogan Loran and Lily Paige Edwards and Ella Elizabeth Brintle.

After living in Tampa, Fla., and other places in North Carolina, the Westmorelands moved back to Mount Airy 13 years ago. Robert is retired and Brend is self-employed as a CNA.
