Liberty Christian School opened the second quarter on an 8-0 run and pulled away from a close game for a 71-37 win over White Plains Christian School Friday.

White Plains was celebrating Homecoming Night Friday and opened the game with an early 4-2 lead.

In the battle of the two Patriots teams, Liberty’s Adam Stanley scored three times in a 10-0 run to go up 12-4.

The home team came right back with a three-pointer from Caleb Hall, then Zane Eaton hit another just before the buzzer to close to 14-12.

Eaton hit four baskets and scored nine of his 12 points in that first period.

After Liberty’s 8-0 run — with all the points coming from Jeremy Sandridge — the visiting team pulled out to a 33-18 lead and just missed adding to that when a three-pointer at the halftime horn was waved off by the officials.

Liberty scored 19 points in each of the last three quarters, building a 52-29 lead after three before winning 71-37.

Sandridge led all scorers with 21 points, including four three-pointers and a three-point play. Dylan Phillips added 14 and Stanley 10 for the visiting team.

White Plains was led by Eaton and Hall with 12 each. Tyler Yarboro added five, Isaac Brewster four and Johnathan Brewster and Nicholas Piela two each.

The home team did a good job of drawing fouls in every quarter, but couldn’t convert, missing 18 shots on the night.
