Villains steal win from Bears

KERNERSVILLE — The Lady Bears lost 62-65 to the Bishop McGuinness Villains after being tied at halftime and leading by up to six points in the second quarter.

Bears Head Coach Howard Mayo said the team just could not get enough going to pull out the win against Bishop despite staying within close scoring range most of the game.

The Bears moved to fifth place in the conference standings and moved to a 14-9 overall and are 7-8 in the conference.

Kathryn Beasley led the Bears in scoring with 16 points. Andi Moore scored 10, Mikayla Seivers eight, Alex Atkins seven, Ayano Shelton four, Symone Simmons four, and Jasmine Varney three.
