To all of the donors, organizers and volunteers who make all of the Thanksgiving meals possible for numbers of people in the community.
From the community meals at local churches and sponsored by the Friends of a Brighter Community to the meals delivered to hundreds by a Sunday school class of First Baptist Church of Mount Airy, providing a chance for those in the area to gather and enjoy a good meal and fellowship, as well as providing a chance for people to have Thanksgiving in their homes, these outreach opportunities are part of what makes our area such a great place to be.
We have such caring people living in our region. Thumbs up to you all.
To the anonymous donor who made it possible for the Mount Airy Police Department to receive an off-road vehicle to patrol area greenways, and to use in other emergency and non-emergency incidences.
Being able to keep the people of the city and area safe is a big part of the police department’s role in the community, and this vehicle will aid them in better protecting those in the area when they are in places where traditional means of transportation are unable to reach them.
