To Ray Lambert, Jason Smith, and all of the local adults who volunteer their time with Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts. Lambert and Smith were recognized this week for their work with the Dogwood District of the Boy Scouts of America, but all adults who spend their time working with local youth should be commended. Oftentimes it is a coach, a scout leader, or some other adult who plays a significant role in the growing-up years of youth, and that effect can have positive, life-long effects.

To all the local residents and organizations who took time this week to honor area veterans. The sacrifices made by those who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces should never be forgotten, and efforts like what we’ve seen over the past week ensure those sacrifices are remembered.
