PILOT MOUNTAIN — A special meeting of the Pilot Mountain Board of Commissioners has been slated for today at 4:30 p.m. concerning bids for repairs to the town’s portion of the roof on the Pilot Center.
According to Pilot Town Manager Homer Dearmin, Otay LLC, or Sports Solutions, which purchased a portion of the building, already is repairing the roof on their half of the building. He said the sale of that part of the Pilot Center was finalized on Jan. 30.
In an earlier meeting of the Surry County commissioners, a motion passed to use some of the proceeds from the sale of the structure to fund the roofing repairs with the understanding the town and the county would share the costs of either repairing or replacing the roof of the portion of the building over the areas used by Surry Community College.
