Ricky Simpson
Ricky Simpson of Mount Airy, who is an active member of the World Safety Organization, has been awarded the World Safety Organization Concerned Professional Award for this year.
Simpson is a certified safety executive of the WSO with a master’s and bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health. He works for ECMD Inc. in North Wilkesboro as its safety, health and environmental manager.
ECMD Inc. has six facilities qualified in the Safety Awareness Recognition Program out of 10 facilities. The WSO award is presented to individuals who have shown above average skills in design, leadership and supervision of environmental/occupational safety and health programs, hazardous materials management programs and transportation safety programs.
To be selected for this award, the individual must have exhibited total dedication and commitment to the protection of people, property, resources and the environment through participation and personal involvement in professional safety activities.
Simpson will receive a plaque from the World Safety Organization on July 31.
