Arrests

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has reported the following arrests:

• On Aug. 23, Joseph Lee Duncan, 39, of Badgett Avenue in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice in Virginia. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $10,000 bond.

• On Aug. 23, Donna Carole Harris, 45, of Fancy Gap Road in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with one count of obtaining property under false pretenses. She was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 bond.

• On Aug. 23, Timothy Ray Baker, 31, of Reece Road in Boonville, was arrested and charged with passing worthless checks.

• On Aug. 27, Christopher Ray Kay, 31, of Bryan Road in Westfield, was arrested and charged with larceny and obtaining property under false pretenses. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 bond.

Incidents

The following incidents are under investigation by the Surry County Sheriff’s Office:

• On Aug. 26, James Douglas Hayes, 38, of Deerfield Lane in Mount Airy, reported the larceny of a gas grill valued at $150 from his property.

• On Aug. 25, Melissa Sue Rakes, 32, of Rick Road in Mount Airy, reported the breaking and entering of her home and the theft of currency valued at $5,700.

• On Aug. 25, Mallory Skye Calfee, 26, of Tucker Road in Mount Airy, reported the theft of her HTC Desire cell phone. The phone was valued at $300.

• On Aug. 25, Jonathan Gray Kirkman, 31, of Old Lowgap Road in Mount Airy, reported the theft of two Rotweillers valued at $1,000.

• On Aug. 25, Ronald Nelson Poole, 41, of Spurlin Lane in Lowgap, reported the theft of a Chevrolet Monte Carlo valued at $1,500.

• On Aug. 25, James Thomas Brim, 60, of South Franklin Road in Mount Airy, reported the vandalism of a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The damaged was valued at $500.

• On Aug. 25, Avery Ellis Cox, 53, of Ararat Road in Ararat, reported the theft of various construction items valued at more than $3,800.

• On Aug. 25, Daphne Ann Hargrave, 45, of Champion Lane in Mount Airy, reported the theft of a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe valued at $5,000.
