Arrests

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has reported the following arrests:

• On Aug. 8, Lora Lowe Phillips, 56, of Sandy Creek Lane in Pilot Mountain, was arrested and charged with two counts of misdemeanor larceny from Stokes County, one count of felony uttering, one count of felony forgery and the possession of stolen property.

• On Aug. 9, David Arron Jarvis, 19, of Kapps Mill Road in Elkin, was arrested and charged with resisting a public officer, larceny and the concealment of stolen goods.

• On Aug. 13, William Bradley Higgins, 33, of Ambross Creek Road in Surry County, was arrested and charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon.

• On Aug. 13, Billy Ray Roberts, 18, of South Main Street in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice in Wythe County, Va.

Incidents

The following incidents are currently being investigated by the Surry County Sheriff’s Office:

• On Aug 12, Shannon Dawn Skaggs, 34, of Swanson Southard Road in Elkin, reported the breaking and entering of her home and the theft of various electronics valued at more than $1,600.

•On Aug 12, members of the Westfield Booster Club in Westfield reported the theft of a power meter hub valued at $10.

• On Aug. 12, Betty Newes Edwards, 55, of Franklin Road in Mount Airy, reported that someone had broken out the front passenger window of her 2007 Dodge Caliber.

• On Aug. 11, Allegra Mekiba Long, 25, of Brush Arbor Lane in Mount Airy, reported the theft of her 2002 Dodge Explorer.

• On Aug. 11, Lorrie Lawson Sechrist, 33, of East Norman Road in Mount Airy, reported the theft of an air conditioning unit and various copper wiring. The items were listed as having a value of $4,100.

• On Aug. 10, Timothy William Snow, 33, of Rockford Road in Dobson, reported the theft of a catalytic converter from his Chevy Silverado. The part was valued at $500.

• On Aug. 10, Harriet Anne Bowman, 76, of Roger’s Lane in Mount Airy, reported the theft of lawn equipment valued at $110.

• On Aug. 10, Porter Gray Scott, 43, of Shoals Road in Pinnacle, reported criminal damage to his corn crop valued at $100.
