DOBSON — For those who love wine, car shows and music, the 12th anniversary of the opening of Shelton Vineyards will be the place to be on Aug. 25.

During the celebration, the Sheltons will release an inaugural wine, “Two — Five — Nine.” The wine is made up primarily of the juice from the Tannat grape.

“This is a big, bold wine that will spark your interest and fire your imagination. We want everyone to come out and hear the story behind this new vintage wine,” said Murphy Moore, winemaker at Shelton Vineyards.

There will be a Mercedes Benz Auto Show at the event.

Food will be available for sale that day as well.

This is a free event that is open to the public. The event will be held at the winery from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Later in the evening, there will be a Shelton Sunset concert from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring the Band of Oz. Tickets for the concert are $25 in advance or purchased at the gate for $30.

Owned by brothers Ed and Charlie Shelton, the vineyard’s primary focus is estate-bottled varietal wines from North Carolina’s emerging Yadkin Valley wine region. The 398-acre Shelton estate contains 125 acres of vineyard and a state-of-the-art gravity-flow winery.

For more information, call the winery at 366-4724 or email sales@sheltonvineyards.com.
