The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Surry County office is partnering with Reeves Community Center and the Surry County Health and Nutrition Center to host a new Diabetes & You series during 2013.
The sessions last an hour with each session held from noon to 1 p.m. and are free to diabetic patients and their families. They will include games, cooking demonstrations, recipe sampling, giveaways and more.
The series begins Jan. 16 in the Reeves Community Center Kids Klub Room with “Carbohydrates — How do you measure up?”
Other sessions are Feb. 13 at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension in Dobson, “Loving your heart — It matters!;” March 1 at RCC, “Moving with diabetes — What you need to know;” April 10 at Cooperative Extension, “Coping with rain;” May 1 at RCC, “Spring into action — Managing highs & lows;” and June 12 at Cooperative Extension, “Decoding fat: Is it good or bad?”
