• A Mount Airy man listed as a fugitive from justice was arrested this week on a series of felony charges, according to city police department reports. Dale Thomas Willard Jr., 34, of 2016 W. Crosswinds Court, had been entered into the National Crime Information Center database due to being wanted in Carroll County, Va., on a probation violation. Willard also faced outstanding warrants from the Surry County Sheriff’s Office on charges of obtaining property by false pretense, felony larceny and felonious possession of stolen goods which had been issued on Nov. 5.

In addition, Willard was in possession of illegal drugs at the time of his arrest Tuesday at Northwest Medical Partners on North Pointe Boulevard, police records state. That led to new charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and three misdemeanor counts, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Willard was confined in the Surry County Jail under a $40,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in District Court on March 21.

• An incident involving injury to property occurred Tuesday night at Food Lion on South Andy Griffith Parkway, where an unknown male suspect took a gallon of milk from the shelf and threw it on the floor, causing the carton to burst. The case is undergoing further investigation.

• Alisha Irene Davis, 24, of 275 Atkins Lane, was cited for concealment of merchandise Tuesday afternoon at Dollar General on North Andy Griffith Parkway, involving Aleve caplets valued at $10. A May 6 District Court date was set for Davis.

• Carl Edward Neal, 20, of Pulaski, Va., was arrested on charges of resisting a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct stemming from a Feb. 26 incident at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Neal is said to have communicated threats and disturbed the peace inside the hospital and later resisted arrest and attempted to flee on foot. He was jailed under a $2,500 secured bond and is to be in District Court on March 20.

• Elmer Lee Ramsey-Long, 20, of 1421 Fancy Gap Road, was arrested as a fugitive from justice and charged with providing fictitious information to a law enforcement officer on Feb. 25. Ramsey-Long was found at that address by city police in response to a request to locate by the Galax, Va., Police Department regarding multiple warrants on unspecified charges. The Fancy Gap Road resident was held in the Surry County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond and is facing a March 14 court appearance.

• Charles Michael Goss Jr., 38, of 192 Rusty Lane, was arrested as a fugitive from justice and for allegedly being intoxicated and disruptive on Feb. 25. Officers encountered Goss during a disturbance call at Northwest Medical Partners on North Pointe Boulevard and he refused to cooperate, police records state. It also was determined that a warrant for his arrest had been issued by the Grayson County, Va., Sheriff’s Office. Goss was held in the Surry County Jail under a $27,500 secured bond and had a March 13 court date set.

• Kelly Lane Martin, 26, of 793 Pipers Gap Road, was cited for concealment of merchandise on Feb. 25 at Dollar General on North Andy Griffith Parkway, identified as several items valued altogether at $27. Martin is facing an April 17 court appearance.
