• A larceny violation has been issued against a Mount Airy woman in connection with the recent theft of a DVD player from Walmart, according to city police reports. Cynthia Nichole Glass, 25, of 310 Pippen St., allegedly took the merchandise, valued at nearly $140, on Jan. 23. In connection with the theft investigation, Brittany Nicole Gibbons, 19, of 177 Carter St., was cited for second-degree trespassing, for being at Walmart after earlier being banned from the store, and simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, due to having oxycodone. Glass and Gibbons are scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on March 5.

• Matthew Lynn Haynes, 27, of 327 Cherry St., No. 5, was arrested Saturday on a domestic-violence protective order violation and an injury to real property charge, which had been filed the previous day with Lilia S. Mendoza of Earl Joyce Lane as the complainant. Haynes was confined in the Surry County Jail, with no bond figure listed on arrest records. His court date is March 1.

• Jamie Lynn Paris, 35, of 106 Blossoms Drive, Mount Airy, was cited Friday for allowing a dog to run at large in violation of a city ordinance. A canine owned by Paris was found to be vicious and running loose on Jan. 23, including going to a Fancy Gap Road address and biting Marcus Crabtreet, police records state. Paris is slated to be in District Court on March 20.

• Kimberly Ann Wareing, 26, of 141 Angela Lane, was cited for larceny on Jan. 24 after allegedly stealing antibiotic ointment from Wally’s Pharmacy on Rockford Street. Wareing is facing a Feb. 25 court appearance.

• Marquis Anthony Hodges Whitlock, 27, of 245 Lewis Drive, was detained during a traffic stop on Jan. 22 after being identified as a suspect in a reported theft, with probable cause found for his arrest on violations of larceny and possession of stolen property, according to police records, which did not list other details of the alleged crime. Whitlock was released on a written promise to appear in Surry District Court next Monday.

• Dana Brooks Waring, 43, of 664 Factory St., turned himself in at the police station on Jan. 21 on an outstanding warrant for a violation of hit and run/leaving the scene involving property damage, which had been issued on Jan. 17 by the King Police Department. Waring is free on a written promise to appear in court on March 12.

• Monica Lynn Badgett, 41, of 328 Cadle Ford Road, was cited for larceny on Jan. 21 after allegedly taking items valued at $59 from Walmart. Badgett is to be in Surry District Court on Feb. 19.

• April Nicole Bennett, 28, of 1105 N. Franklin Road, was cited for concealment of merchandise and larceny/shoplifting on Jan. 19 at New 2 U Consignments, a business on North Andy Griffith Parkway. Bennett is said to have fled on foot before being detained. Her court date is April 15.

• Amber Lynne Martin, 31, of 219 Fluffy Lane, was cited for concealment of merchandise on Jan. 19 at Walmart, involving miscellaneous clothing valued at $100. Martin was banned from the store and is to be in court on Feb. 19.

• Michael Allen Griffith, 30, of 312 Galloway St., was served with an outstanding criminal summons for a charge of injury to personal property on Jan. 19, with Debra Lynn Blizzard of East Lebanon Street as the complainant. Griffith is scheduled to be in District Court on Feb. 22.
