• A safe containing an undisclosed sum of money has been reported stolen from a city establishment, according to the Mount Airy Police Department. The theft occurred Thursday at Kids Go Round on West Lebanon Street after entry was gained through a secured door. The Honeywell safe is valued at $100, but no total was listed for the loss.

That was the second crime reported last week at Kids Go Round. A breaking and entering and felonious larceny had been discovered on Tuesday in which someone gained entry by breaking the front window with a rock and took a small sum of money, police records state. The damage was put at $500.

• Gary Dwayne Bowman, 24, of 624 South St., was cited for larceny Wednesday after allegedly concealing packages of ChapStick valued at $16 at WilcoHess on Rockford Street and leaving the store without paying. Bowman is slated for a Jan. 24 appearance in Surry District Court.

• Michael Lee Goins Jr., 25, of 696 Maple St., was charged with felonious possession of stolen goods last Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation. Details of the charge were not listed. Goins was confined in the Surry County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond and is to be in District Court on Jan. 23.

• Kane Lonzie Lovill, 22, of 729 Allred Mill Road, was arrested last Tuesday on felony charges of forgery and uttering a forged instrument, with no other information listed. Lovill was jailed under a $5,000 secured bond and has a District Court appearance scheduled for Jan. 14.

• John Alexander Payne, 34, of 160 Farmbrook Road, has been accused of cyberstalking, according to a report from last Tuesday, which lists Tracie Horton of Square Street as the victim. Payne was confined in the county jail under a $5,000 secured bond and is to be in court on Jan. 4.

• Lena Bolen Pavlisak, 44, of 696 Maple St., is facing a violation of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle which allegedly occurred in February, with Pavlisak served with outstanding paperwork regarding it after she was located last Tuesday. The woman was held in the county jail in lieu of a $2,000 secured bond and has a March 23 District Court date.

• Dean Bray is the victim of a breaking and entering and larceny discovered on Nov. 15 at a residential property in the 500-block of Willow Street, which involved a loss estimated at $7,558. After gaining entry to the building through unspecified means, a 94-foot heating element was removed along with brass cut-offs.

• Property valued at $7,175, including racing engines, equipment, tools and electronics, was reported stolen on Nov. 14 from a business location on Fancy Gap Road. The items were taken from a trailer that was entered after a lock was cut and a 1989 Ford Ranger pickup, which were parked there.

The victim is Zachery William Gordon, a resident of Silver Hill Lane. Among the missing items are go-karts; two racing engines; Vegas and Firestone racing tires and wheels; a belt sander; drill; grinder; rolling chest tool box; various hand tools including ratchets, wrenches, air ratchets and Craftsman sockets; power saws; a car radio/CD player; an amplifier; and an eight-inch speaker.

• A moped valued at $1,300 was reported stolen on Nov. 15 at the residence of Joseph Patrick Tate Jr. on Hamburg Street. The 50cc model was taken from the front yard.

• Police were told on Nov. 15 that a cell phone owned by U.S. Cellular had been stolen from the home of Jessica Rose Bolick on Taylor Street.
