• Property valued at $2,000, owned by U.S. Cellular on South Andy Griffith Parkway, was reported stolen Tuesday, according to the Mount Airy Police Department. The theft actually occurred earlier in the month at an unidentified business location on Hadley Road. Taken were five copper grounding buss bars, which are used in electrical applications.
• A larceny occurred Wednesday at Advance Auto Parts on West Pine Street, where someone removed a package of Autocraft sockets from a shelf and concealed it in his clothing.
• Two women were cited for larceny Wednesday night at Walmart. Brittany Deann Smith, 21, of 515 Highway 89, Westfield, is accused of taking shorts and other merchandise valued at nearly $40, while Stacie Ardonna Green, 21, of 510 Rockford St., allegedly took mascara valued at $7. Both are to appear in Surry District Court on Oct. 2.
• Rod Sterlin Mayes, 41, of 364 Hadley St., is facing a violation of damage to property owned by the Housing Authority of Mount Airy, which was filed Wednesday after an incident at the neighboring residence of Sherri Mitchell, where Mayes allegedly broke the glass in a storm door. The damage was put at $100 and Mayes is scheduled to be in District Court on Oct. 23.
• The radiator of a 2001 Chevrolet owned by David Paul Simmons of Riverside Drive was discovered missing Monday from that location. Someone opened the engine compartment of the vehicle, which was secured, and took the property valued at $600.
• Another vehicular break-in and larceny was reported Monday involving a 1995 Cadillac Seville owned by Shamir Lorette Penn of West Virginia Street, while it was in a lot on Fowler Road. After entry was gained to the secured car, a battery, ring of keys and the title and registration to the vehicle were taken. Damage put at $50 occurred to a window.
• A case involving financial transaction card fraud was reported Saturday in which Janice Bingman Turner of Boyles Street in Pilot Mountain is the victim. A known suspect is said to have used Turner’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases at Walmart, with no total listed.
• Offenses of larceny and possession of stolen property were issued Saturday against Amanda Dawn Hodges, 21, of 389 Airport Road, after she allegedly took baby clothing and cosmetic items at Walmart which were valued altogether at $17. Hodges’ court appearance is set for Oct. 2.
• Revonda Ann Duncan, 31, of 1478 Mount Herman Church Road, was cited for larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia last Friday at Walmart, where she allegedly took miscellaneous clothing valued at $35. Unspecified drug paraphernalia was found in her purse. Duncan’s District Court date is Oct. 2.
• Timothy Ray Pruitt, 18, of 2191 Prison Camp Road, Dobson, was cited for larceny last Friday at Walmart, involving three DVDs valued at $54. Pruitt is slated for an Oct. 2 court appearance.
• A break-in was discovered on Aug. 22 at L.H. Jones Family Resource Center on Jones School Road, where someone entered a storage building after cutting out door locks of the structure. No property was listed as stolen.
