MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Dakota Blake Pittman, 18, of Mount Airy, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born Dec. 21, 1993, in Forsyth County to Timothy and Judy Dawn Palmer Pittman. Dakota was a senior at Skyview Home School. Dakota possessed a gentle sweet spirit and a ready smile. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pittman is survived by his sister, Hannah Nicole Pittman of the home; paternal grandparents, Stephen and wife Christy Dean of Beckley, W.Va.; aunt, Tammy and uncle, Aaron Sydenstricker, of Pilot Mountain; aunt, Stephanie Dean of Beckley; aunt, Michelle Pittman of Columbus, Ohio; uncle, Troy and aunt, Robin Pittman, of Shady Spring; W.Va.; uncle, Dean and aunt, Sheila Palmer, of Mount Airy; cousins, Brooklyn Wriston, Savannah Wriston, Amber Sydenstricker, Justin Sydenstricker, Destiny Pittman, Sophie Pittman, Cory Palmer and Beth Palmer; several other aunts, uncles and cousins; and devoted girlfriend, Alexis Carnithan of Mount Airy. Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bobby Dean and Jewel Palmer. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Albion Community Church Cemetery, 968 Albion Church Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030, conducted by Elijah Boyles and Wesley Boyles.
