Sales totaled 684 head, including cattle (576), goats (71) and sheep (37), during Tuesday’s sales at Mount Airy Stockyards Inc.
Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:
• Slaughter cows: utility and commercial, $67-$82; cutter and boning, $70-$83; canner and low cutter, $45-$68.
• Slaughter bulls: 1,000-1,500 pounds, $90-$99.50; 1,500 pounds and up, $89-$98.50.
• Stock cows: 875-1,050 pounds, (S1) $625-$1,000.
• Cow/calf pairs: too few.
• Baby calves: $35-$55.
• Feeder steers and bulls: 200-300 pounds, (small frame) $104-$138; 300-400 pounds, (M1) $143-$168, (small frame) $110-$138; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $127-$142.50, (small frame) $100-$126; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $119-$145, (small frame) $89-$117; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $119-$127, (small frame) $92-$111; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $98-$125.75.
• Feeder heifers: 300-400 pounds, (M1) $125-$128, (small frame) $105-$125; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $122-$132, (small frame) $102-$124; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $123-$127; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $105-$115.50.
