PILOT MOUNTAIN — Harry Thomas Milam passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. He was from Beckley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Craig Milam and the Lottie Dyson Milam. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Opal Milam; brothers, Buck Milam and Franklin James Milam; and children, Buddy Dwayne Milam, Thomas Wesley Milam and Bobbie Jean Hale. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Irene Milam; daughters, Mary E. Matheny, Kathy E. Frame and Penny A. Young, all of Beckley; grandchildren, Neal Hale, Finley Hale and Angie Wood, all of Florida, Jimmy E. Stone of Clover, S.C., Lawrence Richards II of Beckley, Amber Rainey of Rock Hill, S.C., Andrew Richards of Beckley, Melanie McVey and Manda McVey of Beckley; and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Milam was a police officer in Raleigh County for several years and a retired coal miner. He enjoyed walking and gardening. Family includes stepchildren, Lisa Lambert, Sandra Williams-Shrewsbury, Larry Lambert and Les Lambert; and stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at 1 p.m. at True Word Baptist Church with the Rev. David Joyce officiating. Interment will follow at True Word Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at True Word Baptist Church.
