The Lady Bears won Friday against the Patrick County (Va.) Cougars by a score of 67-41.
Head Coach Howard Mayo said, “I thought we bounced back well from our game against North Surry on Tuesday.”
Mayo said the team forced the Cougars into 30 turnovers in a great team effort.
“Symone did an outstanding job defensively for us pressuring them into turnovers. She had five steals, five rebounds and six points,” Mayo said.
The high scorers for the Lady Bears against the Cougars were Andi Moore 14, Alex Atkins 13, Ayana Shelton 9 and Symone Simmons 6.
Mount Airy girls are now 4-1, and Patrick is 2-2. The Lady Bears will play the Wildcats on Tuesday away.
