GALAX, Va. — Mrs. Faye Bryant Hawks, 72, of 688 Savannah Road Galax, passed from this life into the loving arms of the Lord, on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Galax. She was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Surry County to the late Harvey and Nellie Golding Bryant. Mrs. Hawks was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church on Haystack Road, Mount Airy. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Ronnie Hawks; two grandchildren, Leigh Ann Marlow and husband, Jermey, of Galax and Jason Hawks and wife, Kayla, of Galax; a great-grandson, Jacob Hawks of Galax; and a brother and sister-in-law, Junior Bryant and wife, Becky, of Dobson, N.C. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hawks; her sisters, Lois Stultz and Audette Lundy; and a brother, Gene Bryant. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Doug Hawks.
