Jillian Claire Gillespie and Robert Wayne Roach III were married Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents. Dr. James Joseph officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Howard Gillespie of Mount Airy. She is the granddaughter of Frances Booker Gillespie, the late Harold Lloyd Gillespie Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Clinton Bateman. The bride graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Arts and from Cabarrus College of Health Science with a degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse by Novant Healthcare.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wayne Roach Jr. of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wayne Roach Sr. of Bermuda Run and Dr. Alfred Leonard Rhyne Jr. and the late Rebecca Neel Rhyne of Winston-Salem. The groom graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is a managing partner of Atlantic Building Solutions in Raleigh.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory silk organza A-line gown highlighted with Alencon lace with a waltz-length matching veil.

She was attended by her sister, Eve Alexandra Gillespie of Charlotte as maid of honor. Her bridesmaids were Allison Louise Unumb and Laura Denise Patterson of Winston-Salem; Alexandria Michelle Olsen of Davidson; Elise Tyler Benham of Charlotte; Katie Michelle Stultz of Reidsville; and Emily Anne Lester of Washington, D.C.

The groom’s father served as best man. The groomsmen were Christopher Neel Rhyne of Baltimore, Md.; John Edward Loftus of Greensboro; Daniel Joseph Heinlein of Hamilton, Bermuda; Gene Winstead Thomas III of Wilson;Wesley Gray Trotter and Benjamin Norwood Moore of Charlotte; and John Howard Gillespie Jr. of Boone, brother of the bride.

Registry and program attendants were Kathryn Roach Whatley of Raleigh and Hannah Roach Dinardo of Asheville, sisters of the groom.

Ceremony music was provided by Wiley Porter and Peter Shanahan.

An outdoor reception was held at the Gillespie home.

On Friday evening, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Trio Restaurant.

A bridesmaids’ luncheon was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted King on Friday morning.

Following a wedding trip to Napa, Calif., the couple will reside in Winston-Salem.
