FERGUSON

LAKELAND, Fla. — Virginia C. Ferguson, 92, of Lakeland, passed away Nov. 20, due to natural causes. Mrs. Ferguson, born in Cana, Va., on May 1, 1920, moved to Lakeland in 2003 after spending many years in the Mount Airy area. She had worked as a farmer, hairdresser and a CNA before her retirement. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, David in 1984; and is survived by her son, Thomas and his wife Helen; two sisters, Antoinette Dawson and Alyne Ayers; two grandchildren, Thomas David Ferguson of Maryland and Christopher Scott Ferguson of Louisiana; and eight great-grandchildren. Private cremation services were held in Lakeland, and a memorial service in the Mount Airy area will be held in the spring.
