MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Richard Brandon Draughn, 30, of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly in Raleigh Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. He was born in Surry County on Aug. 18, 1982, to Richard Loyd Draughn and Sandra Hiatt Draughn. He worked as an auto mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Draughn is survived by two brothers, Ryan Stuart Draughn of Raleigh and Jacquez Malecke Green of Mount Airy; grandparents, Mike and Bessie Williams of Ararat, Va., Mickey Draughn of Mount Airy and Sherrie Draughn of Dobson; and a special friend, Miranda Rice of Dobson. Mr. Draughn was preceded in death by a brother, Joshua Michael Draughn; and his grandfather, Fred Stuart Hiatt. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Salem Baptist Church in Dobson with the Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O.
